SUNDAY JULY 8 - 8PM - ALL AGES

"The Mooney Suzuki nostalgia of "old time rock & roll" debuted in 1996 upon the formation of Sammy James, Jr (guitar/vocals), John Paul Ribas (bass), Graham Tyler (guitar) and Will Rockwell (drums). On top of their added punk of three-chord agility and their '60s momentum of the MC5, the Rolling Stones and the Kinks, the quartet would spend the next three years playing in and out of their native New York City with the likes of Thee Headcoats, the Donnas, the Make-Up and the Delta 72, among others. Telstar Records eventually packaged the Mooney Suzuki's first self-titled single which debuted in 1999. They followed that up with the release of their debut album, People Get Ready, for Estrus in 2000. Steady touring led to more exposure and a new deal with Gammon Records for the release of 2002's critically acclaimed Electric Sweat. The album and the band's frenetic live shows caught the attention of Columbia Records, which signed the band soon after the album's release." - All Music Guide

NOMO
w/ The Carribean

WEDNESDAY JULY 11 - 8PM - ALL AGES

MAGNET
Its party music of the first order, locking into a groove so deep you can practically feel the sweat.

FADER
When Better Than That came in with what sounded like a conga and a Coke bottle percussion duet I sat up on the futon, then I got smoked by both the ensuing free jazz saxophone solo and the mbira passage. I stayed with the music, all the way though to The Seam and La La La ”the albums two brief final songs that masterfully explore both the bands astro potential and their sure-footed soul foundations.

XLR8R
Subtly shifting time signatures and grooves, and outfitted with more than capable soloists, Nomo sounds fresh in an otherwise saturated market.

URB
Elliot Bergman leads these 17 Detroit musicians bangin blowin and honkin through some funk and afrobeat hot enough to melt a Midwest blizzard.

SATURDAY JULY 14 - 9PM - ALL AGES

"Before she began writing and singing her own quirky, intricate pop songs, Annie Clark proved her musical prowess as part of Glenn Branca's 100 Guitar Orchestra, as a guitarist and background vocalist for the Polyphonic Spree on their third album, Fragile Army, and as a member of Sufjan Stevens' touring band. Sounding something like Regina Spektor, My Brightest Diamond, Joan as Police Woman, and Feist, St. Vincent (which Clark called herself as a solo artist) self-released a three-song EP for her tour in Europe, which included a cover of the Jackson Browne-penned "These Days," as well as originals, the Billie Holiday-esque "What Me Worry" and the orchestral "Paris Is Burning." That same year Clark signed to Beggars Banquet, and issued her magnificent full-length debut Marry Me — on which she played not only guitar, but also organ, vibes, Moog, bass, and piano, just to name a few — in July 2007." - All Music Guide
