RAtheMC 915PM
Redline Graffiti 8PM
RAtheMC is one of the most recognizable and unique artists in the D.M.V. (DC, MD, and VA), having now been a part of the local music scene for more than five years. During that time, she has become a pioneer for “hipster fashionista female rappers.” However, nearly a decade ago, the Washington, DC Rapper/Singer/Songwriter began her voyage into music as a young teen, without truly considering the possibilities of what would ultimately become her stairway to stardom.
RAtheMC has been featured on MTV2’s Sucker Free Countdown, BET’s “My Mic Sounds Nice: Women in Hip Hop”, Fox-5 Local News, and Season 2 of the hugely popular television show, XFactor! In addition, she has completed five successful mixtapes, released her debut album (Heart of a Champion) earned a 2009 MTV VMA Breakout Artist Nomination and shared the stage with mainstream recording artists such as Wale, The Clipse and hip-hop innovators, Kurtis Blow and Afrika Bambaataa. Despite these accomplishments, she appears to have only scratched the surface of the impending success that her limitless talent will eventually produce.
As a Female Rapper in a male dominated musical genre, RAtheMC “holds her own” against some of the most notable male rappers in the industry today while simultaneously carving out her own niche. Her desire is to now inspire and uplift women through music in the same way that Hip Hop has influenced her. While her journey has included moments ranging from celebratory occasions to discouraging encounters, RAtheMC is continuously learning and loving every experience.
