Bells and Hunters was formed in 2008 by Kelly Ann Beavers and Keith Fischer over a mutual love of creativity, song writing, and Jeff Buckley. In the years since, the band has distinguished itself with an eclectic sound that mixes 90’s rock, folk, blues, distortion, and guitar solos behind Kelly and Keith’s soulful vocals. In 2010 the band recorded their debut EP, “The Static Sea,” and in 2013 released the critically acclaimed album “Weddings and Funerals”. Currently, with Guido DeHoratiis (drums), Joe McMurray (lead guitar) and Avi Walter (bass) the band continues to write, perform live, and is currently recording their 3rd album set for release in 2015.

Hailed by MTV as a “Fresh new artist with an infectious blend of electro pop goodness” by Paste Magazine as “Irresistibly Danceable” and as having a “Funky Fresh Sound” by the New York Post, the powerful duo broke away from the music industry and a BMG label contract just over a year ago in order to be free of artistic manipulation and corporate BS. Becoming a truly independent band, Hank & Cupcakes recorded, produced & mixed their second studio album ‘CA$H 4 GOLD’ on their own and are now honing their explosive live performances in front of audiences as they tour the country.

When he isn't playing bass or guitar for other DC artists, Kevin de Souza performs his own blend of punk, pop, and americana music under the moniker Uptown Boys Choir. "The idea is that the audience is the choir," de Souza says. "The goal is for everyone to be part of the show. Whether it's your first time hearing this music or your fifteenth, I hope it grabs you and makes you want to join in."
